At Holy Cross, the parish and school operate as a combined budget. The school is a ministry of our parish, which means we exist only with the prayers and financial support of our parishioners. A combined parish budget is available in the church office and printed quarterly in the church bulletin.
Parish/school expenses are covered by multiple sources of income. Church revenue (including tithing) represents 47%. The Early Education Center (EEC) tuition represents 12% and Celebration brings in about 3%. The remaining 38% is from grade school sources, including tuition (25%) and other (13%), including SCRIP, Guardian Angel funds, PTO and fundraising, etc.
The combined budget breaks down as follows: 47% is for grade school personnel (salaries and benefits) and 12% is for other grade school expenses. The EEC expenses represent about 13% and Celebration about 1% of the total expenses. Church expenses represent the remaining 27%, which includes personnel (11%), Archdiocesan assessments (8%), and parish programs/facility maintenance/etc. (8%).
