Who We Are

Catholic schools provide high quality education and here are some reasons why we especially love Holy Cross Catholic School…

  1. Strong Catholic identity – The teachers and staff have a vibrant faith which they lovingly pass on to students in everything they do. The faith is taught not in a vacuum, but as a natural part of every subject. Emphasizing our faith doesn’t mean we shy away from science. The two are deeply connected and when we use our Catholic identity as a lens through which to view science and God’s creation, it helps kids understand the link between faith and reason. Teaching and living this Christian worldview makes our faith more durable.
  2. Teaching how to think –Instead of teaching what to think (political indoctrination) and how to do (utilitarian job training), we train our kids how to think (discernment) and what to do (right vs wrong). We strive to cultivate wisdom and virtue by filling the souls of our students with truth, goodness, and beauty, with the ultimate purpose of knowing, loving, and serving God. The strengthened mind that results, will know how to reason and how to think. This equips Holy Cross students with tools to defend their faith in a world filled with many skeptics.
  3. Preparing kids to be adults in the modern world – We emphasize relationships over technology so our kids will grow into adults that can interact with others in meaningful ways, make healthy connections, debate ideas thoughtfully and respectfully, and evaluate their own strengths and weaknesses in order to choose a vocation wisely. We incorporate brain science in a unique way that allows students to understand how the brain works and equips them to regulate emotions and make wise decisions. The goal of a Holy Cross education is to help students understand the restlessness they feel is really a quest for God.
