Student Eligibility Requirements:

All new K-8 students who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch are now eligible to receive the CEF Tax Credit Scholarships for the 2021-22 school year (pending the availability of funds), regardless of where they live in Kansas. The new legislation removed the unfair restriction that students must live within the boundaries of the 100 lowest-performing schools in Kansas.

In addition to qualifying for federal free or reduced-price lunch, eligible students must prove Kansas residency and meet these criteria:

·        The new student must be entering K-8th grade in the 2021-22 school year, and

·        The new student must have previously attended any public Kansas elementary or middle school (including virtual school within a public school district), or

·        The student is an incoming kindergartener.
