We are so excited to have a new Technology/Library/Makerspace this year, thanks to the dedicated Father’s Club and their hard work removing a wall this summer. In this space, all students, kindergarten through 8th grade, have weekly 60 minute classes to practice and learn keyboarding, coding, digital citizenship, and design applications as well as computer and Internet skills. Junior High students were excited to dive into our new LEGO Education BricQ Motion Prime kits, which encourage creative thinking with a hands-on, trial-and-error approach to complete a challenge. Primary and intermediate classes love using the LEGO Build-It Binders as well as the LEGO walls.
Did you know that preschoolers visit the library for storytime? Their sweet faces and excitement for books and stories are a weekly highlight. Reading for pleasure has increased here at Holy Cross with regular time spent in the library. Students are thrilled with their new books from this month’s Book Fair, and our library earned almost $1000 in resources to keep our students reading! Lastly, a big shout out to parishioner, Mrs.Terry Paine. Her dedication and time each week barcoding new books for our library keep us well stocked with fun new books to read. Thank you, Terry!
